( July 10, 2006 ) San Angelo, TX -- The Wisconsin Emu Association (WIEA) has issued an invitation to area shoppers to visit the Emu Mall this July 14th and 15th at the Madison West-Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. Open to the public, the Emu Mall is a yearly event held in conjunction with the American Emu Association National Convention. This is the 16th year for the event and the first year that WIEA has hosted. The Emu Mall will be open to the public from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm on Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th in the conference area of the Madison West-Marriott Hotel, 1313 John Q. Hammons Drive, Middleton, Wisconsin. "Both shoppers and retailers will be welcome," said Joy Reavis, WIEA President. Several of the companies represented at the mall welcome distributor inquiries.

The Emu Mall will have a collection of booths offering information as well as selling everything from original egg art to the latest additions to the Royal Leather collection from EPMI. EPMI is the largest retailer of emu leather in the United States. The Elegant Eggs by Marily booth will be showcasing original design, heirloom quality egg art by Iowa artist Marilyn Miller. Heartland Emu Marketing Cooperative, an Iowa based farming co-op, will be offering a variety of health and beauty products in their booth, including their mainstay, pure emu oil. They will be introducing the latest addition to the EmuVera line, Men's Master Shave and Men's Moisture Talc. Image Consultant Wanda Bishop will be providing free color analysis and image consultations in the Awesome Hilltop Acres booth. A member of the Upper Midwest Soapers Guild, Grandma Mary's Soaps is based in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The four-year-old company will be introducing their signature lines of Emu Oil Soap and Honey Oatmeal Soap, as well as a new pet shampoo. Their booth will feature an opportunity for customers to make their own gift bags.

Earl the Emu®, popular star of the Earl the Emu: Bible Adventures for Children television show, will also be at the Emu Mall. He is expected to appear at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM on both days. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, the state's largest general farm organization, will have an information booth at the Emu Mall. The American Emu Association and Wisconsin Emu Association will also have booths offering emu related information, cookbooks and other items of interest.

The American Emu Association is a non-profit trade association representing the emu industry. The emu industry is an alternative agricultural industry, dominated by the small farmer, who is devoted to humane and environmentally positive practices that will produce beneficial products for society.
